The City of Whittlesea’s annual art exhibition is back on, and local artists and creatives are being invited to delve into the realm of hope for this year’s theme.

Each year, the exhibition seeks to showcase and celebrate the work of all artists who live, work, or play within the municipality of the City of Whittlesea.

Applications are open to people of all ages, levels of experience, art mediums, materials, processes, practices, and interpretations.

This year, the theme for the art exhibition is ‘Hope Unveiled: Exploring the Spectrum of Possibility.’

From the inspiring to the whirlwind of emotions that leads to feelings of hope, artists are being called to challenge and contemplate hope in all its forms.

The City of Whittlesea Arts probes artists with prompts such as “Share your visions of a brighter tomorrow, your utopian fantasies, your fervent desires for change,” and asks questions such as “How does hope illuminate the path forward? How does it anchor us in turbulent seas? How does it inspire resilience in the face of adversity? Does hope spring eternal? Is having hope what makes us truly human?”.

The venue and date for the exhibition are yet to be announced, but artists are invited to start imagining and creating their responses now as applications will open soon.
