Tuesday: Shepparton

Monegeetta trainer and driver David Miles was in the winner’s stall following the victory of 4-year-old Always B Miki-Braeview Creation’s gelding The Iron Duke in the Your Sold Real Estate Pace over 2190m. Trapped five wide from gate six before going forward to tackle pole marker Animado for the front running and succeeding in the back straight on the first occasion, The Iron Duke bred and raced by long time stable clients Sal Ferraro and family travelled neatly for the rest of the journey to account for Lenny Lincoln (three pegs – one/one on turning) by 1.5m. Animado was third a neck back after having every chance along the sprint lane. The mile rate 2-00.2.

Lancefield’s Rod Petroff trained and reined 5-year-old Betting Line-Arivee’s gelding Ya Bottom Dollar to a most-of-the-way victory in the 1720m Swift Signs Maiden Pace after crossing Atomic Glory, who flew away from outside the front line. Dictating terms to a nicety, Ya Bottom Dollar never looked like being caught to reach the wire 1.6m in advance of Anakin, who had vacated the one/one to race outside him for the final circuit. Midnite Desire (three pegs) was third 6.1m away. The mile rate 1-58.1.

Romsey’s Chris Svanosio was successful with the honest 7-year-old Rock N Roll Heaven-Sentimental Charm’s mare Heavenly Charm in the Nevele R Stud Pace over 2240m. Enjoying a cosy passage from a solo second line draw trailing the polemark leader Crime Wave, Heavenly Charm – after coming away from the inside on the home turn – finished best to blouse the pacemaker by a single metre, returning a mile rate of 1-55.6. Twisted Bliss was third at 2.7m away after following the pair.
