Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is around the corner, with communities organising events to donate to the Cancer Council including Whittlesea.
The morning tea is organised under the Cancer Council where people gather to raise money to donate towards cancer research while supporting each other.
In partnership with Yarra Plenty Regional Library, City of Whittlesea, Whittlesea Secondary College and Country Women’s Association Jubunna Whittlesea, a free morning tea will be hosted at Whittlesea Library on May 24.
Residents can attend to enjoy delicious morning tea, Indigenous tea and learn about the ingredients, win door prizes and enjoy items baked by Whittlesea Secondary College students.
The morning tea will also include activities and view crafts for cancer support made by the members of the Whittlesea Jumbunna Night Branch.
Country Women’s Association Jubunna Whittlesea vice president Simone Summers said she looked forward to seeing all the different attendees to support a good cause.
“Just seeing the different demographics of people that are affected [of cancer], it touches so many families,” she said.
“The money raised will help fund vital research, finding new cancer treatments and working towards a cancer free future.”
The event is free but bookings are required via bit.ly/3yjole3 or by contacting Whittlesea Library on 9716 3028.

The event will be this Friday from 10.30am to 12pm at Whittlesea Library, located 57-61 Laurel Street, Whittlesea.
