Alexandra District Speedway Club will host another Victorian title this time for the Production Sedans from the nationally governed Speedway Sedans Australia.
Among the entrants are two three-time winners of the Victorian title, Stephen Laidlaw from Morwell, and Trevor Mills from Corowa. Both those drivers have also won two national titles each in the class and are by far the most credentialled as a Production Sedan racer.
Also in field is the current Australian Street Stock champion Nathan Brackstone-Thorne, after his recent win at Hamilton.
Other events this weekend include the Goulburn Ovens Sedans Blue Shed Series, Sports Sedans, SSA Junior Sedans, Street Stocks, and Ladies Sports Sedans.
Fresh off victory this past weekend Chase Doherty leads entrants in the Junior 1200 Sedans with Xander Baxter the most accomplished with results on the board and Dayne Murdoch having his best season yet. Alexandra will also be represented by Charlie Fallon in his first race meeting and Brody Barton.
In Junior New Star Sedans Luke Morrison Blake Beach and Maddy Beach are evenly matched with Blake though having a couple of wins under his belt in finals.
With Ladies Sports Sedans recognised as a Victorian class by Speedway Australia, this will be the first time Alexandra holds the class I its new form. Some of the drivers based on results this year to keep an eye on include Bianca Ballantyne, Larissa Ahearn, Cobie McGraw, Leah Orgill and Tara Johannsen. Whilst Anything can happen as some of the drivers have not have much racing this year and are keen to have a crack on Saturday.
This Saturday racing begins from 2pm on Gordon Street Alexandra with a planned 10:30pm finish.
