The Australian Idol journey has officially come to an end for Wallan’s Kaitlyn Thomas and Mitchell Shire performer Tahlia Eve Pizzicara, both finishing in the final 30 contestants on the television series.
After receiving golden tickets for their auditions in Melbourne, the singers were flown to Sydney to battle it out in Top 50 Week.
The singers were successful in the first two Idol challenges, singing individually against nine contestants each in ‘the chorus lineup’, before preparing and performing with a team for the group challenge.
Ms Thomas and Ms Pizzicara both advanced to the next round, where they performed solos to a live audience.

Ms Thomas’ performance of Shania Twain’s ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ did not secure her a place in the top 24.
Ms Pizzicara performed ‘Ain’t Nobody’ by Chaka Khan, before she was challenged to ‘an old-fashioned cutting contest’ against fellow contestant Maya Weiss for the final spot left in the top 24.
Despite being unsuccessful, the judges encouraged Ms Pizzicara to return to Australian Idol in 2024.
“The good news is you’re 21 years old, and if we don’t see you back auditioning next year that would be a shame, because you’re an extraordinarily talented young woman,” judge Harry Connick Jr said.
Just do it again next year, Tahlia
