A MAN has died following a car and truck collision on Broadford-Kilmore Road at about 1.45pm this afternoon.

The man driving the car, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, believed to be a cement truck, is assisting police with enquiries while detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit will attend the site.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Kellys Lane, north of Kilmore.

The Broadford-Kilmore Road remains closed to traffic, between the Northern Highway roundabout and Three Chain Road.

Police had been told that another vehicle may have turned into Kellys Lane before the collision and is urging the occupants of the car to come forward with any information they may have.

Woman dies in Seymour crash

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Seymour this morning.

Investigators have been told a Mazda sedan was headed east along the Goulburn Valley Highway about 8.30am when the car left the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver and only occupant, a 64-year-old woman from Seymour, was taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries but later died.
