AT its race meeting at bet365 Park Kyneton on Thursday, the Kyneton and Hanging Rock Racing Club honoured its founding patron and life member, former president and racecaller, the late Jack Styring.
Styring, who died last month after a long illness, had the first four races on the eight-race named in his honour.
With district stables failing to greet the winning post, the highlight of the meeting was Ethan Brown winning on the first three legs of the quadrella.
Brown was aboard the Kane Harris-trained Smart Mozzie, paying $4.80, in the Out of the contraption like a scolded Cat C,G&E BM58 Handicap over 1200 metres.
In the following race the duo combined to win with Rock Of Kryptonite, $5, in the 1100-metre Miranda Park C,G&E BM58 Handicap.
Brown’s third leg winner was aboard the Mick Kent-trained Comic Set, $2.50 favourite, in the bet365 Racing Refunds Class 2 Handicap over 1450 metres.
The next meeting at Kyneton will be on Thursday, March 17.
