YOUNG people aged 12 to 25 are now being recruited to join the Music in the Sticks program, as part of the Macedon Ranges Youth Services.
The program has run for more than 15 years and has provided valuable skills and experience, helping young people as an entry point into the world of event management, performance, and live and recorded music.
Music in the Sticks is a free program and offers experience in areas such as sound and lighting, photography and film, publicity and management, live and studio recording, sound production and hospitality.
The group is responsible for facilitating live music and cultural events around the Macedon Ranges, with meetings held fortnightly and food provided.
To register interest or for more information, contact the Macedon Ranges Youth Services at youth@mrsc.vic.gov.au or call 5422 0333.
Music in the Sticks will also be hosting the Romsey Roll on March 19, an all-ages live music event at the Romsey Skate Park.
Beginning at 12pm, the event will feature young artists from the Macedon Ranges including Junkyard Wizards, Sack of Flour, The Mods and Azime and Lavinia. Food trucks will also be in attendance.
The event is an opportunity to showcase talent from the region while allowing young people to create networks with likeminded people.
