Possess drug of dependence
Riding a bicycle without a helmet is the least of a Wallan man’s worries, after police intercepted the 45-year-old in Watson Street, Wallan, at 4.45pm on Thursday.
Police discovered the man had an outstanding warrant, prompting them to search the man where they allegedly located a small amount of drug of dependence.
The man was taken to Wallan Police Station where he was interviewed and charged with possessing a drug of dependence. He was bailed to attend court later this year.
Theft
A CCTV camera at a Poppy Drive, Wallan, property was stolen between 12.32am and 4.30am on Wednesday, after an unknown offender turned the power off at the house.
The offender, described as male, 45 to 55 years old, balding and wearing a light coloured hoodie and gold chain, had parked his dark coloured ute outside the address.
Burglary
Offenders broke into KFC, Wallan, between 1.07am and 1.50am on Wednesday.
Two offenders gained access to the store by forcing open the glass sliding door while the other offender waited outside.
Inside two offenders unsuccessfully attempted to open the cash register and safe before stealing two iPads.
The offenders also attempted to gain access to two work vehicles parked outside the restaurant.
All offenders were wearing hoodies and face masks.
Theft from motor vehicles
Overnight on February 20, at least three vehicles were broken into in Almond Ave and Alexander Way in Wallan.
A description of the offender given to police was a man, possibly in his mid-20s.
Damage to RSL
Two name plaques from the memorial wall at Broadford RSL were removed between February 20 and 22.
A member of the RSL later located the name plaques nearby.
