A South Morang couple are planning to shout their friends to lavish celebrations as soon as lockdown lifts after winning $1 million in Wednesday’s Lotto draw.

The couple were one of the three division one winning entries nationally in lotto draw 4097 on Wednesday. Each division one winning entry scored $1 million.

The jubilant pair explained how they discovered their life had changed forever.

“My wife checked the winning numbers last night and because we use the same numbers each week, she knew straight away that they matched our numbers,” he said.

“But it’s funny, because even though we knew it was real, we started to think maybe it was a hoax and we’d been hacked by someone.

“We were so anxious but also excited about it all last night so we had to have a few drinks to calm down. Thankfully, we had a good sleep after that.”

The man said once a Lotto official had confirmed the win, the couple were ‘over the moon’.

“When we can, we’ll have a big party and shout all our family and friends to a good time to celebrate,” he said.

When asked how they intended to enjoy their million-dollar-win, the winning duo said they already had some plans in mind.

“We will pay off the mortgage first,” he said.

“I will still keep working, I need to keep myself busy or I will go mad! But I might look at going part-time.

“We love to travel too! So we will definitely do more travel, but they will be first class holidays. I might upgrade my car too.”

Their winning marked four-game entry was purchased online. The winning numbers were 15, 11, 16, 42, 18 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 14.
