Assumption defies gravity with production of Wicked premiering this week

Popular Stories

Assumption College students have been working hard to prepare their annual production for public viewing this week.

The college hosts a diverse range of dramatic productions, and their latest production of the family musical Wicked is set to continue the tradition.

Principal Kate Fogarty said the school was keen to return to normality following the events of 2020 and bring together families again.

“Both staff and students are keen to make this production a really memorable one, especially since in 2020 we had so much time of isolation due to the pandemic,” she said.

“Our Wicked production aims to bring people together. We want all families to enjoy the versatile performers and high calibre of talent from all ages in a professional setting.

“It gives students an authentic theatre experience and enables them to work with their teachers and peers of all ages. Students can participate in many areas, such as performing, singing, dancing, set design, photography and backstage.”

Wicked will be performed at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre at South Morang on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
