MITCHELL Shire residents will have access to a fresh Woolworths supermarket, when the new store opens its doors to shoppers on Friday at the new Kilmore Village Shopping Centre.
The new shopping centre, at the corner of the Northern Highway and Clarke Street, at the north end of Kilmore, opens this week.
Woolworths Kilmore Village store manager Sarah Backhouse said with students returning to school for term two, it was the perfect time to provide families with a new and exciting supermarket offering.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer a convenient new store at Kilmore Village Shopping Centre for our local customers that makes grocery shopping easy and more convenient,” she said.
“Being part of the local landscape is very important to us.
“We have been able to create 120 new jobs, including 80 team members who are new to Woolworths, with a vast majority coming from Kilmore and surrounding areas.
“We are also looking forward to supporting a number of community groups in the area over the coming months and are proud to be able to partner with the Kilmore Football and Netball Club and Kilmore Junior Football Club for the next two seasons.”
Among key features at Woolworths Kilmore Village, customers can expect a full production bakery and an in-store meat specialist to help decide on cuts of meats and how to prepare, cook and serve to ensure a fresh and delicious meal.
The bakery will feature artisan bread loaves and a new range of premium stone-baked breads, plus made-to-order cakes for any special occasion.
In addition, the new store will offer a big range of fish and seafood, perfect for a family feast.
All fresh fish can be paired with the new and free ‘bag and bake’ offering, which has a number of marinade options, including tomato and basil, and lime and chilli fusion.
For those shoppers who choose to shop online and pick up their orders in-store, Woolworths will have a dedicated pick-up zone with designated parking bays for store-to-boot convenience.
“To take the stress out of shopping, our new pick-up service means you can shop online and have your groceries delivered to your car in our dedicated parking bays at a time that suits you,” Ms Backhouse said.
Liquor retailer BWS will also be opening next to Woolworths and will offer an expansive range across beer, wine and spirits, with plenty of choices for the perfect dinner drop.
The new Woolworths store opens at 9am on Friday. It will trade from 7am to 10pm daily.
