Police are currently searching for Matthew Curic who escaped custody at Seymour Police Station this afternoon.

The 33-year-old was remanded in custody regarding assault-related matters at Seymour Magistrates’ Court before being transported to Seymour Police Station about 2.45pm.

He allegedly assaulted a male police officer before fleeing the station on foot.

The police officer was not seriously hurt as a result of the assault.

Police have released an image of Curic in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and no shoes.

He was seen with a cut on his arm which was bleeding heavily.

Anyone who sights Curic is urged not to approach him and contact Triple Zero (000).
