Start Christmas right and take the family on board the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre’s Santa’s Express from Seymour to Bendigo on December 1.
Santa’s Express train to Bendigo offers optional tours on the Victorian Goldfields Railway to Maldon or a special vintage tram journey to Bendigo’s gold mine.
The train will also have a special guest on board – Santa will catch up with all the children throughout the day.
As a special gift, all kids under eight years old will receive a free showbag from Santa.
The heritage train will be hauled by vintage locomotives, and passengers will travel in comfortable 100-year-old wooden bodied ‘E class’ carriages together with former Spirit of Progress ‘S class’ steel passenger carriages.
The train will also include the Yarra Carriage, built in 1906.
Passengers can enjoy a day out in Bendigo, experiencing the iconic and historical tram network and the rich goldfields heritage.
Bus transfers from Bendigo Railway Station to the Central Deborah Goldmine, a full round-trip on Bendigo’s Vintage Talking Tram and a comprehensive tour of the tram depot and museum are also available.
Or people can enjoy a day trip to Maldon with a few hours to explore the goldfields town and experience one of the most scenic branchline train journeys on a vintage steam train.
People can the make the most of the journey, and travel in style and enjoy carriages that were once reserved exclusively for royalty and governors in Royal Premium Class.
Royal Premium class passengers will receive a meal in the 1937 vintage dining car, all included in the fare.

State Carriage Four was built in 1927 and used on many royal trains including the Duke and Duchess of York in 1927, Queen Elizabeth II in 1954, and Prince and Princess of Wales in 1988.
