THERE was an exciting boost for a couple of clubs in the Riddell District Football Netball League over the weekend including a former AFL player.
Star player and RDFNL centre half forward of the year Jack Jedwab re-signed with Romsey for another year.
Jedwab won the club’s best and fairest, kicking 72 goals as well as averaging 18 disposals a game, in one of the poorer sides of 2026, he’ll be a huge factor in its 2027 season.
In other good news for the club, coach Nathan Blair will be back for next year as well.
The Redbacks will be looking to go bigger and much better in 2027 after finishing eighth this year.
Riddells Creek have secured multiple big signings as well including former Western Bulldog and North Melbourne player Nathan Hrovat who will return to the red and black bringing in a few more with him as well.
The departure of Chris Stewart could loom to hurt Wallan in the near future but should allow more players through the door with salary cap relief.
Questions marks remain over Jake Carlisle and Lachlan Smart who are star players for the club and could also be huge losses.
