FINAL preparation is underway for the Victorian Roganining Championships in Tallarook, to be held on Friday and Saturday at the Tallarook Plateau.
Organisers are hoping for 200-300 entrants for the event, with numbers acorss the two days anticipated to reach 450, and also including volunteers.
The teams that will participate are generally made up of two or three people, from ages of late teens to over 70s, with options including a six-hour, 15-hour and the 24-hour Rogaine, which makes up the state championships.
An award ceremony will be held after midday on Saturday, with pack up starting from there.
The base camp will begin setting up tomorrow, called the Hash House. This will include setup of tents, portaloos, catering and the start/finish area. Members of the local community are welcome to visit throughout the two days to understand what happens at a rogaining event. At noon on Friday, the Hash House will also be the location of a mass start, before the area goes quiet until about 4pm later on Friday.
Teams will be spread in an area bound by Landscape Road on the west, East Falls Road on the east and spans most of the plateau.
