ONE Nation is attracting growing interest from Victorian voters online, with Google Trends data showing searches for the party rising ahead of November’s state election.
While Labor has continued to generate strong search interest, searches for the Liberal Party have declined, according to Google Trends.
Search interest in political parties typically peaks around election periods, with Labor reaching a score of 100 in April 2022.
The figure represents the highest search interest for Labor during the period measured, rather than the party receiving 100 per cent support.
Search interest again increased around the November 2022 Victorian election, when Daniel Andrews was returned as Premier, and during the May 2025 federal election, when Anthony Albanese was returned as Prime Minister.
One Nation, however, has shown a different trend.
Search interest in the party has been climbing ahead of the November Victorian election, despite not traditionally recording the same level of search activity as the major parties.
The rise comes as voters continue to grapple with issues including housing affordability, cost of living, immigration and trust in government.
One Nation has particularly sought to capitalise on dissatisfaction in outer-suburban and regional communities, where voters have raised concerns about housing affordability, infrastructure, government services and the pace of population growth.
The party’s electoral support has also increased since the 2022 Victorian election, when it secured 0.22 per cent of the primary vote.
Polling conducted in 2026 has since shown One Nation attracting double-digit support in some electorates, although voting intentions can vary significantly between polls and individual seats.
With One Nation now contesting every Victorian lower-house seat, its level of support could have a significant impact on preferences and the final result, even if it does not win many seats itself.
The Google Trends data does not predict the election result, but the growing search interest provides a snapshot of the issues and political parties attracting attention from Victorian voters.
With polling day approaching, One Nation’s ability to convert that growing interest into votes will be one of the more closely watched aspects of the November election.
