MACNAMARA’S Irish Pub held its Big Freeze fundraiser on the King’s Birthday holiday, with local businesses supporting the event and some of the town’s big names participating in the challenge.

The event was held at half time of the Collingwood and Melbourne AFL clash last Monday, with 11 participants in the ice bucket challenge.

A target of $5000 was set out to be raised for FightMND, which was successful through bidding and fundraising on the day.

COLD OUTING: Kilmore Football Netball Club president Leigh Irons was also under the microscope for the ice bucket challenge.

The participants were Amanda Groves, Frijtek owner Mick Fandrich, Harry Dhariwal, Wayne Duncan, Tristan Briffa, Kilmore Football Netball Club president Leigh Irons, popular boxer and Victorian Lightweight Champion Jesse ‘Tip Rat’ Bolt, Mac’s Pub owner Manny Rekhi, Danny Bolt and Billy The Kid – who trains at the House of Stoush Boxing Academy in Wallan alongside Jesse Bolt.

A long list of local businesses across the Mitchell Shire chipped in to support on the day from across town with donations and vouchers.
