INSPECTORS from the Mitchell Shire Council (MSC) will be conducting a series of nighttime inspections on the shire’s council-managed roads north of Broadford, beginning next Monday.
The MSC said the auditing work will assess the visibility and condition of key road safety infrastructure including road signage reflectivity and line marking visibility.
Roadside guideposts and raised pavement markers will also be checked to identify areas where maintenance or replacement may be required to improve road safety, particularly in low-light conditions.
The project is part of the MSC’s ongoing road safety and maintenance program.
The inspections will not require any road closures and traffic impact is expected to be negligible. Residents may notice MSC inspectors or vehicles travelling slowly or stopping along roads during the inspection period.
Inspections will be carried out between 5.30pm and 2.30am across a three week period starting next Monday.
