BEVERIDGE is set to receive a new kindergarten as part of the new precinct area at Fethard Road in the Lockerbie North Precinct Structure Plan.

The kindergarten will include three rooms providing up to 99 licensed places plus two maternal and child health rooms delivering services for families with children from birth to school age.

Outdoor areas will be a part of the project which was part of the State Governments support for the fast growing town.

Mitchell Shire Mayor John Dougall said the project responds to strong population growth in Beveridge suiting new families within the area.

“We thank the Victorian Government for its support in helping us plan and deliver the
infrastructure our growing communities need,” he said.

“Beveridge is one of the fastest growing areas in our Shire, and partnerships like this are critical to making sure we are keeping pace with that growth and planning ahead for local families.

“We look forward to seeing this new kindergarten open and being well used by families
in Beveridge, providing access to quality early years services close to home.”

Construction is expected to commence later this year with the kindergarten scheduled to open in January 2027.
