NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2026 City of Whittlesea Business Awards, celebrating the talent, innovation and resilience of the municipality’s thriving business community.

Now in its fourth year, the awards recognise businesses of all sizes and sectors that help drive economic growth and strengthen the vibrancy of the City of Whittlesea.

Mayor Councillor Lawrie Cox said the awards were an opportunity to acknowledge the businesses shaping the region’s future.

“The City of Whittlesea Business Awards celebrate the innovation, dedication and achievements of our local business community,” Cr Cox said.

“These awards recognise the businesses that are contributing to our local economy, creating jobs and enhancing the quality of life for our residents across the municipality.”

Nominations are open now and will close at 5pm on Friday, March 13.

Finalists will be announced on April 14, with winners revealed at a gala presentation evening on Thursday, June 25, at the Plenty Ranges Art and Convention Centre in South Morang.

The awards span a broad range of categories, including Customer Service, Innovation, and Enterprise, Sustainability and Environment, Community Contribution, Diversity and Inclusion and Small Business.

One outstanding business will also be crowned Business of the Year, awarded to the highest-scoring nominee across all categories.

Cr Cox said: “We encourage all eligible businesses to nominate and share their success stories.

“Whether you are a start-up, a small enterprise, or an established business championing sustainability and service, the 2026 Business Awards are your opportunity to be recognised and celebrated.”

Businesses can self-nominate through the City of Whittlesea Business Network, which is free to join.

Community members are also encouraged to support local operators by spreading the word and urging standout businesses to apply.

“This is a chance to come together as a community to recognise the entrepreneurs and business leaders who make the City of Whittlesea a great place to live, work and invest,” Cr Cox said.

Entries can be submitted online via the City of Whittlesea website.
