A COMMUNITY reference group is being set up for Coulstock Street in Epping to shape the future of the street.
This is part of the Epping Central Structure Plan, which was adopted in 2023, being subject to key changes as part of the continued works going into Epping, which included the recent completion of the major Epping Road works.
The Victorian Government has identified the precinct as one that can play a key role in supporting Victoria’s Housing Statement, which is a key part of the Epping Metropolitan Activity Centre.
Surrounding areas which may also be changed through the works include Wedge Street and Church Street.
Council is currently developing the Coulstock Street Precinct Place Plan to accommodate future growth within the area.
Community consultation is being established at the moment, which will include a Community Reference Group. Expressions of interest are currently open to be a part of the group, open to all residents, workers or those that commonly frequent the Coulstock Street precinct and will remain open until January 31.
A short pre-reading task will be sent to participants within the group, as well as an in-person attendance at a reference group session. After that, the opportunity to share views in a supportive, collaborative environment will be provided, and a participatory gift voucher will be exchanged.
The sessions will be held at the Epping Community Services Hub on 713 High Street in Epping, with the first meeting set for early March and a second meeting midway through May, with dates yet to be confirmed.
