KIRRA Wright’s spectacular World Para Athletics Championships campaign has continued, finishing fifth in the 100 metre T36 final.

Already landing a silver medal in the discus competition, which all-but cements her spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics, Wright’s continued improvement on the track has also seen her finish strongly in the 100m final.

Wright finished just half a second away from earning a silver medal, finishing in a time of 15.05.

New Zealand’s Danielle Aitchison blitzed the field, finishing in 13.43 to win by over a second from fellow Australian Mali Lovell, who ran 14.56. Brazil’s Veronica Hipolito was third.

Australia enjoyed a reasonable campaign at the championships, with Wright’s silver medal in the discus competition one of 13 medals they earned, including two gold medals.
