MELBOURNE Water and the Mitchell Shire Council (MSC) are working together by calling for community input to update flood mapping in Beveridge and Wallan.
The work is being completed as part of the Greater Melbourne Flood Information Program, that uses flood modelling that comprises infrastructure data, natural terrain and climate factors when factoring in their flood maps.
Four locations are being updated, with the community asked to provide input for Boyd Creek, the upper section of Merri Creek, stormwater drains and the lower section of Deep Creek.
An interactive survey has been posted on the Melbourne Water website, asking residents to provide an indication of where the flooding was located, how the flooding occurred, what caused the flooding and when it happened.
The survey closes at 11.59pm on Sunday, August 24, with all experiences of flooding considered between now and the end of the survey.
