KILMORE took lessons away from having its colours lowered by division two front-runner Lower Plenty at JJ Clancy Reserve.

The Bears got the jump on Kilmore on Sunday afternoon by kicking four goals to one behind to lead by 23 points at the opening change.

However, the Blues played some encouraging football in the second quarter to show it was up for the fight, and a late goal left the Blues sitting just 16 points down at the main break.

The Bears used the break to reset and recharge, and came out in the third quarter a completely different team, and one which more resembled the ladder-leaders.

Lower Plenty kicked four goals to no score to increase the margin back to 43 points at the final change, before kicking another four goals to one to take a 13.6 (84) to 3.4 (22) victory.

Sienna Shinners, Jessica Vilinskis, Kasey Marsden, Shenay Reeves, Ella Stewart and Jade Ventura were all named in the best for the Blues, while Chiara Nardo kicked two goals.

Wallan’s hopes of playing finals football took a nosedive with a loss to Macleod at De Winton Park.

The Kangaroos got the jump on the Magpies, with goals in each of the first three quarters allowing it to lead throughout, with Wallan managing a solitary effort in the third.

Macleod took the win, 3.6 (24) to 1.0 (6).

Toni Gussenhoven kicked the only goal for the Magpies, while no best players were listed at the time of production.
