Don Dwyer was successful at the Alexandra picnic meeting with Pine Valley in the 1830 metre event.

Pine Valley was a $2000 online purchase by part owner Ash Plant, son of the late Seymour trainer Ray Plant.  The win was a special thrill for part owner Gavin Doyle, who is also a committee member of the Alexandra Race Club.

A 23-start maiden at the time of purchase, the five year old son of Spieth has now had 14 starts for Don Dwyer for five wins, five seconds and two thirds. The win also took Don Dwyer’s tally of wins to 13 for the 2024/2025 season.

Fellow Seymour trainer Ron Hockley scored later on the card with Some Eclipse, rounding out a recent run of good form. The seven year old ran third at Alexandra on March 15 and second at Healesville on March 22. He was ridden in all his recent starts by Tracey Johnson.
