MITCHELL Rangers will be looking to get their Football Victoria State League Men’s 5 North back on track following their bye this week following two tough losses in the first two rounds of the season.

In the opening game against Melbourne University, the game started with a flourish, with Adem Mustedanagic equalising almost immediately in the third minute after an early effort saw their opponents go ahead.

But this would be as good as it got for Mitchell Rangers, who would shit another five goals and go down 6-1.

The second game against Meadow Park was equally a grind, as Meadow Park proved too strong in winning 6-0.

There was better news for the reserves, who have started strongly, recording a point in the first game thanks to a 1-1 draw against Melbourne University, while only narrowly losing to Meadow Park 2-1 last week, despite a William Mulvey goal to give Rangers the lead in the 20th minute.

Mitchell Rangers will now be looking to get their first points of the senior campaign as they host Old Ivanhoe at 5 pm on Saturday.
