The Epping Road Upgrade is kicking off 2025 in style with major works to improve a key intersection in Wollert.

The improvements at De Rossi Boulevard will deliver new traffic signals, street lighting, a median, on-road bicycle lanes, walking paths, on-street parking, and new lanes.

On top of the new additions, crews will also upgrade the intersection’s existing lanes, kerbs, and medians.

Once complete, Major Road Projects Victoria Program Director Dipal Sorathia stated the improvements would ensure a safer and more reliable travel for all road users.

“Our crews are getting ready for major works to improve the De Rossi Boulevard intersection at Epping Road,” he said.

“These improvements are vital to the project’s aim of delivering safer and more reliable travel between Wollert and Epping.

“We thank the community for its patience and look forward to working well together again in 2025.”

From now until late April, the project team will close De Rossi Boulevard at Epping Road, De Rossi Boulevard’s eastbound lane at Highpark Drive, and Sunfield Drive at De Rossi Boulevard so crews can safely upgrade the intersection and build the new lanes.

Epping Road will remain open in both directions. Access to De Rossi Boulevard and Sunfield Drive will be maintained via Linfield Parade.

Access to Wollert Primary School, Kirrip Community Centre, and businesses and private properties, including Lifestyle Lyndarum, will be maintained at all times.

Those travelling through the area are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. To make dropping off and collecting students at Wollert Primary School easier, drivers are advised to use and park on Highpark Drive instead of De Rossi Boulevard.
