Kilmore Bowls Club (KBC) held a very successful women’s tournament earlier this month.
KBC President John Coates welcomed 16 teams and 64 players from Seymour, Wallan, Sunbury, Kingsbury, Yea, Kyneton, Rochester, Elmore, Gisborne, Broadford, and Trentham.
The tournament was sponsored by some of the club’s very loyal sponsors, including Bendigo Bank Kilmore, T J Scott Funeral Directors , Nutrien Harcourts, and Kilmore Toyota.
A number of other gifts and prizes were donated to our major raffle from local businesses and club members. These gifts included gift boxes from our two local chemists, a Primo Small Goods Package, a Picnic Gift Bag, a Crochet Rug, and a carwash bucket from Repco Auto Parts.
The members played three competitive rounds of 10 ends in hot conditions, with Kingsbury (1) reigning supreme. In second place was Wallan (3), with Best Last Games won by Rochester/Elmore and Kyneton.
Bendigo Bank Kilmore Director Kit Holland presented the awards on behalf of the sponsors, and highlighted the important contribution that sponsorship makes to supporting community clubs and organisations .
The comradeship and friendships exhibited by the players towards each other was evident, and all members played with good sportsmanship and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
The KBC secretary congratulated the winning teams and thanked all the clubs for their support. She acknowledged the support of our sponsors and thanked the club’s volunteers who worked so diligently to make the day a great success for all.
