Kilmore’s Bendigo Bank has celebrated a milestone birthday.

Earlier this month, the community bank celebrated an impressive 10 years of service with both current and past staff, board members, directors, shareholders, and community groups.

Reflecting on the bank’s history, a Bendigo Bank spokesperson noted that their core mission—to provide a community-first service to Mitchell Shire residents—had only grown since they first opened their doors in 2004, with Kevin Hannam as branch manager.

“Over the past decade, we’ve seen what the power of the community can accomplish,” they said.

“When we opened the doors … we made a promise to not only provide trusted banking services, but to also be here for our community, to help it grow, and to give back in meaningful ways.

“By the end of June 2016, we had grown to $105M in business, enabling community grants to exceed $400K for the year.

“From supporting the Kilmore Walking Track and sponsoring the many teams, clubs, and organisations in town, our focus has always been on making a lasting impact right here at home.

“We’re proud to have been part of these projects and many others that continue to strengthen the community in Kilmore.”

Acknowledging that the bank’s success would not be without the support of loyal customers, the spokesperson thanked the community.

Children enjoyed celebrating the event.

“This journey would not be possible without the trust and loyalty of our customers, our dedicated staff, and our community partners who share our vision,” they said.

“Every account, every loan, and every interaction with our bank fuels our ability to give back and support the town we love.

“So, thank you to everyone who has supported the Community Bank here in Kilmore.”
