Regional communities can now apply for funding to support the upgrade and creation of local swimming pools, women and girls’ change rooms, courts, sports fields, and pavilions.
Backed by the State Government, grant applications are now open for each of the five funding streams under Round 2 of the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (RCSIF).
Additional grants of up to $50,000 are also available through the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund to help boost participation for those with disabilities at the new or upgraded facilities.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes was excited to see northern communities benefit from the funding.
“This fund is about giving Northern Victoria’s sport and recreation participants appropriate facilities they need and can be proud of, so even more people can get involved and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits that come from leading an active lifestyle,” she said.
“I encourage local community-based clubs and organisations to connect with their local council and take advantage of this opportunity to build and upgrade important facilities and help more people of all ages, abilities, and genders to get involved in sport and recreation.”
Applications are open now until March 17, 2025. For more information, visit www.sport.vic.gov.au/fund\ing/regional-community-sports-infrastructure-fund.
