CVGT Kilmore has expanded its services to offer increased support to parents and carers with its new Parent Pathways program.

Launched last Friday, the not-for-profit organisation will see the program offer personalised and financial support to eligible parents and carers of young children, helping them to balance and navigate the challenges of parenthood alongside employment and education goals.

Replacing the former ParentsNext program, the new program has been designed with parents in mind, following extensive consultation on how to best manage and address their needs and aspirations both inside and outside the family.

CVGT Employment’s Specialist Program Manager Silva Tecer was excited to offer the program to the local community, noting that it would provide a supportive environment to many.

“CVGT Employment’s Parent Pathway program is more than just a service, it’s a community,” she said.

“Our service offers a supportive and flexible environment where participants can connect with resources and qualified mentors to achieve their goals.”

The program is open to those who are receiving Parenting Payment, Carer Payment, and/or Special Benefit, and have a child under the age of 6.

“Voluntary participants can expect a safe, child-friendly, and welcoming environment that ensures comfort and confidentiality. Flexible appointment times will ensure support fits your family commitments,” Ms Tecer said.

After connecting with a mentor, participants will be eligible to receive financial assistance to achieve their employment and education goals, and access resources and services to support their journey.

CVGT Employment is located at Shop 4, 11-13 Sydney Street, Kilmore, open Monday–Friday by appointment only.
