A family open day is planned for the community to peek inside the Kilmore Men’s Shed and there’s lots to see and do.
Usually, the Men’s Shed is reserved for members only, however, on Saturday, October 26, the shed doors will open from 9am–1pm, at 2 Hunts Road, Kilmore, with all welcome to attend.
The Kilmore Men’s Shed is one of the biggest sheds in Victoria, and their grassroots program is entering into its 20th year. Around 100 participants meet twice a week to get on the tools and check on each others’ wellbeing.
They enjoy gardening together and are even known for growing a tasty Russian Tomato!
Along with spring seedlings and secondhand tools for sale on the day, there are also other secondhand items available, including a freezer and children’s bikes.
For the engine enthusiasts, there will be around six vintage trucks on display, each holding a Victorian Club permit licence plate.
Right now, the men are hard at work making mystery projects for sale on the day, and there will also be a sausage sizzle, and hot and cold drinks available.
Entry is via a gold coin donation, and there will be plenty of parking spaces in the yard or on Hunts Road.
