Last month, a dozen volunteers gathered in welcome sunshine at the Tallarook Common to help re-vegetate land recently cleared of blackberries along part of the Dabyminga creek.
The Dabyminga Blackberry Action Group (DBAG), with funding from the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, has been active in clearing blackberries along the creek for the past eight years, and has been replanting sections of the creekside to replace the blackberry infestation.
DBAG spokesperson Mark South said the day provided a good turnout.
“It was a good turnout, with a good cross section of the community helping out to improve our local environment,” he said.
