Tallarook Cricket Club (TCC) held its Annual General Meeting last month, electing a committee of dedicated, community-focused locals to guide the Club through the 2024-25 Seymour District Cricket Association (SDCA) season.

The Executive of the Club remains unchanged with Leigh Irving (President), Damien Arandt (Vice-President), Mitch Itter (Secretary), and Adam Howard (Treasurer) all re-elected for another year in their respective positions.

Hugh Archibald, Andrew Dundon, Shan Dundon, Ash Hansen, Lachlan Watts, Sam Watts, Felicity Melville, and Jamie Irving have also been named as 2024-25 committee members.

The committee includes a broad range of professional experience and as the most successful club of the SDCA’s modern era, extensive on-field accomplishments include 40 A Grade premierships between members of the committee.

TCC President Leigh Irving said the Club was in a strong position ahead of the 2024-25 season.

“We’re delighted to have a fantastic team of locals back on board to support our club and continue its growth this season,” he said.

“Over the past few seasons there’s been a massive amount of work by our committee off field which has allowed us to make some great investments back into our club and its infrastructure.

“This has flowed through to continued success on field, with back-to-back A Grade premierships and a B Grade flag the season before.

“We’re ambitious for the future of the TCC and will be looking to go from strength to strength again this season.”

The TCC has rebuilt its Junior Cricket Program over the past couple of years, running a Woolworths Cricket Blast last year alongside Under 11s and Under 13s junior teams in the SDCA. Junior cricket will remain the Club’s key priority over the next 12 months.

“We’re really proud of our culture as a community and family-focused club which has allowed us to bring junior cricket back to Tallarook in a big way,” Mr Irving said.

“I’d encourage families and kids who are looking to get involved in cricket to get in touch and have a chat about our club and junior cricket.

“Playing junior cricket close to home in a fun environment is what it’s all about, and we can’t wait to welcome new families to the TCC again this year.

“Our club is a family and we can’t wait to get back into cricket action in the coming months.”
