CITY of Whittlesea is asking for the community’s help in planning for some exciting new features for Lauries Field in Doreen.
Council is putting together a draft master plan for Lauries Field, and is keen to hear from the community – a chance for residents to share their ideas, and help shape the future of the park located on the corner of Lakeland Drive and Brookwood Avenue.
The draft master plan aims to improve environmental sustainability and enjoyment of the park, as well as enhance accessibility and the play experience.
Council welcomes residents to share their thoughts about the lake, ideas for better lighting for those late evening strolls, or use of the adjacent carpark.
The ideas will help make the park accessible, fun, and enjoyable for everyone.
City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the views of the community were key to helping shape the future of the valued green space.
“Lauries Field is a cherished part of our local community, and we are excited to hear how we can make it even better,” she said.
“Your input will be invaluable in helping shape the draft master plan. Together, we can create a beautiful open space that’s inclusive and meets the diverse needs of our residents.
“The draft master plan will be a 10-year roadmap for Lauries Field, and with your ideas, we can create something truly special.”
With community ideas and feedback, Council will develop the draft master plan and share it with the community for further input.
