Kilmore’s Community Centre held an open day at their premises last week, with members from the community attending the event to learn about the centre’s offerings.
A Neighbourhood House, the centre provides a range of free and paid services to the public, including weekly yoga sessions, first aid courses, and early years programs.
Among the aforementioned services, the centre also offers a fruit and vegetable preserving group, craft group, gardening group, and technological support, with the latter run by students from Assumption College Kilmore.
Kilmore’s Community Centre also acts as a drop-off point for Second Chance Animal Rescue donations, which provides pet food, toys, and other necessities for shelter animals.
Manger Rose Colobo said the centre provided a space for members of the community to come together and connect with each other.
“We’ve had young mums, seniors, and people from the community looking to connect today,” she said.
Ms Colobo noted that the centre also provided personalised programs and services for people of all ages, genders, and abilities, and invited members of the community to share their ideas with the centre.
“Come and talk to us and give input into future ideas for programs,” she said.
“We want people to know we are here and to communicate what they are wanting.”
