Mernda’s Northern Football Netball League, NFNL, division three campaign got off to a rough start on Saturday with an away loss to Old Eltham Collegians.

Although it was only eight points the difference by the final siren, the Turtles’ scoreline was defined by inaccurate scoring and missed opportunities as they finished with nine goals and 16 behinds.

Mernda also chalked up nine goals, with the difference in the scoreline created by its eight behinds for the match.
