FIVE Mitchell Shire girls celebrated the completion of their 2022 junior scholarships at Kilmore Golf Club with a presentation ceremony on December 10.
The girls received certificates and full junior memberships to the club, which are valid until March 2024.
The scholarships are funded by the Australian Golf Foundation and organised by registered Golf Australia professionals at registered golf clubs.
Kilmore Golf Club members work to develop opportunities for the five scholarship holders and other junior players to play at the club.
The club hosts junior group sessions each Saturday morning during school terms and encourage competitive play during holidays by playing regular nine-hole competitions on Friday mornings.
The scholarships are currently available to girls aged between 10 and 16 years old, encouraging them to start playing or continue pursuing golf.
Kilmore Golf Club will be run a similar program in 2023, with applications now open.
The 2023 scholarship program provides a one-year junior membership at Kilmore Golf Club, 24 tuition sessions with club professional Nathan Roberts and a shirt and cap designating their scholarship status.
The formal tuition sessions are on Saturday mornings during school term only.
