Seymour man arrested in drug ring

A 33-year-old Seymour man has been arrested and charged as part of a large drug trafficking syndicate in the Goulburn Valley.

Police arrested the man on December 1, charging him with 67 offences, including trafficking methylamphetamine.

He has been remanded to face the Shepparton Magistrates Court on January 9, 2023.

Detectives from Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit arrested 10 people accused of distributing large quantities of methylamphetamine and GHB throughout the Shepparton region.

As part of the investigation, detectives executed eight search warrants, seizing 550 grams of methylamphetamine worth about $110,000; $60,000 in cash, which investigators allege is proceeds of drug trafficking; six allegedly stolen vehicles; and two firearms.

Others to be arrested included a 48-year-old Shepparton man charged with 370 separate offences; a 32-year-old Shepparton woman charged with 181 separate offences; a 29-year-old Shepparton man charged with 65 separate offences; a 32-year-old Shepparton male charged with 21 separate offences; and a 32-year-old Kialla man charged with 12 separate offences. All have been charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine.

A Kialla man, 49, a Tatura man, 24, a Shepparton man, 44, and a Kialla man, 37, were also charged with various drug offences.
