Musicians can now enter an upcoming Battle of the Bands competition, looking to find the best talent in the Hume Goulburn Valley region.
Organised by Strathbogie Shire FReeZA and the Euroa Music Festival, ‘Out of Nowhere’ is the inaugural battle of the bands competition at the festival with five grand finalists set to perform in the main street of Euroa on November 4.
Euroa Music Festival director Adam Palmer said the competition would be a good opportunity for young musicians to perform in public.
“This is an amazing opportunity for young musicians in the Hume Goulburn Valley region to compete and continue to develop their craft,” he said.
“We’re expecting over 2000 people to visit Euroa over the Euroa Music Festival weekend, so to kick off the weekend with the ‘Out of Nowhere’ grand final, will be a big deal for all involved.”
The competition winner will secure a spot on the 2023 Euroa Music Festival line-up, as well as win a recording, production and mentoring package with artist support organisation Small Time Group in Brunswick. All grand finalists will also receive tickets to the festival on November 5.
To be eligible to enter, the majority of band members must reside in the Strathbogie Shire or adjoining shires, including Mitchell Shire. All band members must be 25 years old or younger.
Heats for the event will be from August to October. To enter, visit www.euroamusicfestival.com.
