The woman handed herself into Wallan Police Station on Friday, and was interviewed by detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit, following a public appeal for the driver to come forward after failing to stop at the scene.

The sedan the woman was driving has been seized and will be forensically tested.

A police spokesperson yesterday said the ‘investigation into the collision remains active and ongoing’.

Detectives are asking anyone who saw the incident, or may have dashcam footage, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
