VICTORIA Police homicide squad detectives are still appealing for public assistance following the fatal shooting of Korey Kesici in Mickleham yesterday morning.
About midnight on Wednesday, Mr Kesici left his home on Bangalore Way to speak to the male occupant of a silver BMW parked in the street.
After a short discussion, the 22-year-old Mr Kesici was shot multiple times by a male passenger of the vehicle.
The pair left in the vehicle, which was found burnt out soon after on St Georges Street near Bangalore Way.
Emergency services were called, however Mr Kesici died at the scene.
While police are still establishing the exact circumstances of the shooting, it is believed to be an organised, targeted attack.
Investigators also believe Mr Kesici had a connection to the male in the vehicle but have yet to establish a motive for the shooting.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, as well as anyone in the area between 11pm Wednesday night and 1am Thursday morning who might have dash-cam or CCTV footage of the silver BMW or the men involved.
Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who saw the silver BMW prior to Wednesday night.
Anyone who can provide information on associates of Mr Kesici or any motivation for the shooting is urged to contact police and this information can be provided anonymously.
