WHITTLESEA was unable to match it with division one ladder leader Heidelberg on Saturday, losing 3.7 (25) to 24.23 (167) at home.

Captain Xavier Dimasi was among the Eagles’ best in his 50th senior outing for the club, with onballer David Mennen another standout.

Full back Jake Wild battled hard in a back line that was under siege for most of the afternoon, while Matthew Ryan, Taidhg Bland and Matthew Atta each finished with one goal to their names at the other end of the ground.

Whittlesea will be on the road against Bundoora this Saturday in search of its second win for the season.
