Big Group Hug in calling on people to help make sure children don’t go without pyjamas, socks and underwear.
Throughout March, Big Group Hug’s annual PJs, Socks, Singlets and Jocks campaign aims to help supplement the organisation’s second-hand donations and replenish stock of items that must be new.
The items will be used to fill clothing packs that are sent out to children who are facing challenges, to provide some love and dignity to them.
Big Group Hug is specifically asking for brand new donations of pyjamas, socks and underwear for boys and girls sized two to 16.
“Ensuring children have the basic items of clothing is so important for self-esteem and dignity. Big Group Hug is calling on our community to help us, help those who need it most,” chief executive Bernadene Voss said.
To support the campaign, people need to register their involvement at form.jotform.com/210917670122853.
Any items purchased for the campaign can then be donated at one of Big Group Hug’s collection points.
The organisation encourages participants to then spread the word of the campaign to their workplace, community organisation, friends, family, and social media contacts, asking them to support the cause.
