Police are seeking help with CCTV footage from residents on Powlett Street, Kilmore after several cars, houses and business had their windows smashed between 12.30am and 2.30am on Monday.
Kilmore acting Senior Sergeant Wally Siebold said police had received 13 reports of smashed windows and damaged vehicles, as of noon Monday.
“At this stage it’s mainly vandalisation,” he said.
“We haven’t identified anyone of yet in relation to that because we’re still chasing up CCTV … and there has been a mention that there were about four offenders running off from the general vicinity, so obviously we’ll be calling for anyone with CCTV footage or any other information.”
Sgt Siebold said Kilmore police would increase their public presence in and around Kilmore from this week.
“This coincides with the start of the school holidays [so] we’ll be stepping up the patrols in the area over the school holidays,” he said.
Anyone with information or who can assist police with CCTV footage can call Kilmore Police Station on 5782 1211 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
