A WET and miserable weekend prevented most Gisborne and District Cricket Association matches from being completed at the weekend as the association entered round two of its regional competition.
It was the second consecutive weekend that rain had interrupted play in various matches.
In Pool A, Romsey 1 drew with Bacchus Marsh 1, while Wallan 1 drew with Gisborne 2 in Pool B.
The Redbacks were able to put a win on the board in Pool B, with the seconds taking a seven-wicket win over Kyneton 1.
Romsey bowled Kyneton out for 87 from 20 overs, with Jamie Taylor leading the attack, taking 3/13 from four overs with a maiden while Alfie Miles took 3/14 from four overs with one maiden.
Romsey was able to chase down Kyneton’s total in what essentially amounted to a Twenty20 match, finishing the innings 3/92 after 19 overs with captain Corey Day making 39 after opening.
There were more draws in Pool D, Pool E and Pool F between Lancefield 1 and Hanging Rock 1, Wallan 2 and Gisborne 5, Wallan 3 and Gisborne 6, and Wallan 3 and Lancefield 2.
