GREENSBOROUGH Highway Patrol members are appealing for witnesses of a serious crash in Doreen last week to come forward.
A Doreen man, 49, was taken by air ambulance to hospital on Monday last week after his black 2007 Nissan Navara ute came off Arthurs Creek Road while travelling west between Middle Hut Road and Yan Yean Road at about 11.56am.
The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle, which made heavy contact with a tree and crashed through two fences before coming to a stop in a paddock.
As of yesterday, the man was still in a serious condition in hospital.

Greensborough Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Jason Flinn said police believed witnesses could provide more information about the collision.
“We’re looking for any witnesses who may have been in the area around the time of the collision,” he said.
“We have been appealing for two men who were in a ute who did stop at the scene to cut into the paddock to get to the gentleman. We’re trying to get their details.”
Sgt Flinn said there was no indication any other vehicles were involved in the collision and police were trying to determine how the driver lost control of his vehicle.
