Broadford nabbed its fourth win of the Riddell District Football Netball League season, and possibly its last, at least for this year, beating Lancefield by 52 points.
Playing at home on Saturday, the Kangaroos were level with the Tigers at the first break after a tight first term.
The Tigers were unlucky to not be in front at the first break, kicking 1.7 to 2.1.
The Kangaroos capitalised in the second term, holding Lancefield scoreless while kicking two goals to lead by 13 points at half-time.
Poor kicking was again costly for the Tigers in the third term as Lancefield kicked 2.5 to the Kangaroos’ 4.1 and the deficit grew to 21 points at the last change.
Broadford sealed the win with a strong fourth quarter, holding Lancefield scoreless and booting five goals to run away with the win.
Broadford finished the season ninth on the ladder with a 4-12 record at 46.84 per cent.
The Kangaroos will take an early holiday with a bye this week before a decision will be made in coming weeks on which league the club will play in next season.
Lancefield, meanwhile, will host second-placed Diggers Rest this week, who will be looking to steal the minor premiership if Romsey can’t get past Riddell.
Broadford 13.4 (82) def Lancefield 3.12 (30)
