By Jorden Harris, President, Mitchell Business Network
ARE you a local business owner who’d like to meet the people doing business around you?
I’ll be straight with you. Mitchell Business Network (MBN) didn’t do much over the last twelve months. That’s on us. But we’re alive, blessed with new blood, new enthusiasm and a new mission. We’re pushing forward and we’d like you to share the fruits of what we’re building.
Recently, we’ve been getting business owners back sharing a room. We’ve been welcomed by rAKa’s Cafe (Wallan), Hogan’s Hotel (Wallan), Caffeine Bar (Kilmore), the Bottom Pub (Broadford) and Open House (Wallan), and we’re grateful to every one of them for backing local networking.
MBN helps local businesses build trust, share skills and knowledge and grow together.
Here’s how it works. Mitchell After Hours is on the first Wednesday of the month, and Coffee Connect is on the third. Both move around the Shire, so there’s a good chance we’re coming to your town soon. Coffee Connect is a relaxed catch-up with no pitches and no pressure, just good conversation over a coffee.
Want to give it a go? Coffee Connect is the easiest place to start. Our next one is at Club Mandalay (Beveridge) on Wednesday, October 21. Guests are welcome and you don’t need to be a member to come along.
Then there’s the big one. On Friday, December 4 we’re holding the Thanks for 2026 End of Year Showcase at Kilmore Trackside, hosted by footy legend Robert “Dipper” DiPierdomenico. It’s our way of saying thank you to the local businesses, venues and people who’ve backed the network this year and a chance for you to meet them. Whether you’re a tradie, a café owner, a blue or white collar professional or a one-person operation, you’ll be in good company. Members and guests are welcome.
